CAFIC, the Chamber of Agriculture & FPO India Council, is an organization that operates within the specific context of India's agricultural sector. India, being an agrarian country with a significant population dependent on agriculture, faces various challenges in the sector. CAFIC is committed to addressing these challenges and driving the transformation of agriculture to improve the livelihoods of farmers
In the Indian context, CAFIC recognizes the importance of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) as catalysts for agricultural development. FPOs enable small and marginal farmers to come together, pool their resources, and collectively engage in farming activities. They empower farmers by promoting collective action, enhancing access to resources, improving market linkages, and ensuring fair prices for their produce. CAFIC actively supports the formation, strengthening, and capacity building of FPOs across India.
